讲座内容:
Fracture mechanics has become one of the most important tools for the safe design and operation of engineering structural components. Over the last twenty-five years, fracture mechanics has enjoyed several new developments, one of which is on the treatment of constraint effects. It has enabled much more accurate predictions of failures of defected components. This presentation will provide an update on the most recent advances in the field of fracture mechanics, focused on the treatment of constraint effects, contributed by my research group, involving theoretical, computational and experimental aspects. The quantification, of the crack front constraint, using additional fracture mechanics parameters will be discussed. Topics also include developments of the constraint-based fracture mechanics in material testing, and applications in safety assessment of structural components.
