报告题目:Origami Dynamics
报告简介:Origami is an ancient art of paper folding, which can produce complicated geometrical objects by folding a flat sheet of paper with straightforward operations. Recently, origami has inspired designs in various engineering applications ranging from large deployable spacecraft to nanostructures. In this talk, first, vibration control techniques by exploiting the intriguing features of origami dynamics will be presented, including origami-inspired isolators and tunable mechanical memory metamaterials. Then, the origami-inspired designs for harvesting energy from low-frequency vibration sources will be covered. I will conclude the talk by briefing other recent innovations in metamaterial and energy harvesting in our group.
