题目：Fire simulation from model development to practical applications
主讲人简介：Jennifer Wen is Professor in Energy Resilience at University of Surrey in the UK. She established and currently leads the Fire and Explosion Modelling Group (FMEG), a multidisciplinary research laboratory for both fundamental and applied research into fire and explosion hazards. She is also the Programme Lead for Energy and Environment at the pan university Institute for Sustainability. She is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. She is Vice-Chairman of the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS) and Chair of IAFSS Research sub-committee. Professor Wen sits on over a dozen professional and conference organization/scientific committees, two of these are related to the safety of LIB. She is also a member and sub-task Leader for the European Hydrogen Safety Panel established by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership of the European Commission.
讲座内容简介：The presentation will review the achievements of my team in advancing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques for modelling a wide range of fire scenarios. The first part of the presentation will provide a summary of our development for physics-based sub-models including the modified and extended Eddy Dissipation Concept (EDC) for combustion, a PaSR-based soot model for turbulent fires as well as the implementation and evaluation of the weighted-sum-of-grey-gases formulations (WSGG) to calculate the gases radiative properties in fires. These will be followed by an overview of the modelling approaches we have developed for flame spread over combustible solids and liquid fuels as well as wild fires. Finally, the presentation will briefly mention our work in modelling hydrogen jet fires.
